  7.         This file, README., contains the Tech-Edit [1] license agreement,
  8.         and gives you information on registering Tech-Edit.

  10.         The file is 4 pages long.  The last page is a registration form
  11.         which you can fill out and mail in to register Tech-Edit.

  14.         Registration Information
  15.  
  16.              Tech-Edit is a copyrighted program protected by both U.S. and
  17.              international copyright law.  You are authorized to use it
  18.              without charge for a limited period of time under the terms
  19.              of the Tech-Edit license agreement.  After this time is up, you
  20.              must register and pay for Tech-Edit to continue using it.
  21.  
  22.              This method of distribution is known as shareware.  It
  23.              allows you to determine whether Tech-Edit meets your needs
  24.              before you pay for it.

  52.           Tech-Edit License Agreement
  53.  
  54.                 (1)  The Tech-Edit program and all other programs and
  55.                 documentation distributed or shipped with it are
  56.                 copyrighted works protected by U.S. and international
  57.                 copyright law.  In the rest of this document, this
  58.                 collection of programs is referred to simply as "Tech-Edit".
  59.                 You are granted a license to use your copy of Tech-Edit only
  60.                 under the terms and conditions specified in this license
  61.                 agreement.

  63.                 (2)  Tech-Edit is a commercial software package.  It is not
  64.                 free, and it is not in the public domain.  It is
  65.                 distributed as shareware, which means that before you pay
  66.                 for the package, you may try it and see if you want to
  67.                 continue using it.  You may use Tech-Edit free for a trial
  68.                 period of up to 31 days.  If you wish to continue using
  69.                 Tech-Edit after that period, you must pay a registration fee.
  70.                 If you choose not to pay the registration fee, you must
  71.                 stop using Tech-Edit and remove it from your computer, though
  72.                 you are still free to keep copies and pass them along to
  73.                 others.

  75.                 (3)  You may use your copy of Tech-Edit on a single computer.
  76.                 You may also install it on a computer attached to a
  77.                 network, or remove it from one computer and install it on a
  78.                 different one, provided there is no possibility that a
  79.                 single copy of Tech-Edit will be used on more than one computer
  80.                 at a time.  Network, site, and corporate licenses are
  81.                 available from Superior Soft.

  83.                 (4)  You may copy Tech-Edit for backup purposes, and you may
  84.                 give copies of the unregistered version to other
  85.                 individuals, which they may also use and copy under the
  86.                 terms of this agreement.  If you copy the unregistered
  87.                 version of Tech-Edit for others, you must include all of the
  88.                 files distributed with it.

  90.                 (5)  You may NOT give, sell, or otherwise transfer copies
  91.                 of the registered version of Tech-Edit to any other person for
  92.                 any reason.  However, you may transfer ownership of your
  93.                 registered copy to another person, provided that when you
  94.                 do so, you stop using Tech-Edit and remove it from your
  95.                 computer, and notify Superior Soft of the new owner.

  97.                 (6)  You may NOT distribute Tech-Edit other than through
  98.                 individual copies of the unregistered version passed to
  99.                 friends and associates for their individual use and 
  100.                 distribution by electronic means where no profit is
  101.                 intended specific to Tech-Edit. Specifically, you may not 
  102.                 place Tech-Edit or any part of the Tech-Edit package in 
  103.                 any user group or commercial library without express 
  104.                 written permission from Superior Soft, and you may not 
  105.                 distribute for a fee, or in any way sell copies of 
  106.                 Tech-Edit or any part of the Tech-Edit package.

  108.              (7)  Tech-Edit is a powerful editor.  While we have attempted
  109.              to build in reasonable safeguards, if you do not use Tech-Edit
  110.              properly you may destroy files or cause other damage to
  111.              your computer software and data.  You assume full

  116.              responsibility for the selection and use of Tech-Edit to achieve
  117.              your intended results; in no event shall Superior Soft be
  118.              responsible for any damages whatsoever due to errors in
  119.              usage or your failure to read, understand, or follow
  120.              instructions in the documentation.  Superior Soft limits
  121.              its warranty to replacement of a defective program diskette
  122.              or manual.

  124.              (8)  Like all useful computer software, Tech-Edit may contain
  125.              errors in programs or documentation.  If you find such an
  126.              error or are otherwise dissatisfied with a registered copy
  127.              of Tech-Edit, you may return the entire package at any time up
  128.              to 3 months after purchase for a full refund of your
  129.              original registration fee; such a refund shall be your sole
  130.              remedy for any program error(s).  Superior Soft shall not
  131.              be liable for any other costs incurred by you due to such
  132.              errors.

  134.              (9)  If you do not agree with these terms and conditions,
  135.              you do not have permission from the copyright holder(s) to
  136.              use Tech-Edit, and you must stop using it and remove it from
  137.              your computer.
  138.  
  139.              (10)  Any use or distribution of Tech-Edit which violates this
  140.              license agreement will be considered a copyright violation,
  141.              and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
  142.              
  143.              (11)  The Tech-Edit source code or binary cannot be used in 
  144.              itself as a stand-alone product nor can the source code be 
  145.              sold in any form.
  146.              
  147.              (12)  The Tech-Edit source code may be used only by the 
  148.              registered owner.
  149.              
  150.              (13) You may use Tech-Edit in your own product(s) as long
  151.              as a Superior Soft copyright is displayed in the product(s).
  152.              The copyright shall be in the form of a text message: "Technical
  153.              Editor V2.0 Copyright (c) Superior Soft 1988,1989,1990". This 
  154.              message should appear atleast once during the usage of the 
  155.              product(s).

  158.            Limited Warranty
  159.  
  160.                 Superior Soft warrants that the Tech-Edit diskette and manual
  161.                 distributed to registered users are fit for the purpose for
  162.                 which they are intended.  Superior Soft will replace or
  163.                 refund the purchase price of the diskette and/or manual
  164.                 and/or any other parts or components of T
